How do I book an assessment?
For initial free-of-charge advice and a quotation, please use the contact page. Alternatively, email alec@adassessments.com or tel 07530 671779. Assessment appointments are usually available within 7-10 days.
Do I need to visit your office?
Assessments can be in-person or online via Microsoft Teams or Zoom. Whichever you prefer. The online option means that you can be assessed even if you are outside the UK. The process is essentially the same.
What happens in the assessment?
A full diagnostic assessment comprises a background information interview and a series of educational tests. Each assessment takes approximately 2.5 hours. The result is given at the end of assessment. A full report complete with personalised recommendations will follow within 5 working days.
What about ADHD?
ADHD is recognised as a Specific Learning Difficulty and as a medical condition. If sufficient indicators of ADHD are disclosed in the diagnostic interview, a full screening protocol will be administered. If this yields a positive outcome, a report that will be acceptable for education and workplace purposes will be issued. However, if you are seeking a medical assessment for ADHD (for example, if you are seeking medication) you should consult a GP.
What about Autism Spectrum Disorder
I cannot assess for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). If that is something that you are considering you may find this website helpful https://www.autism.org.uk/advice-and-guidance/topics/diagnosis/pre-diagnosis/adults#H3_8
